£500 in 8 weeks

Hi all,

As the title suggests, I need to earn an additional £500 in the next 8 weeks to ease us through a 'tighter' spot. Having read through the pinned post, I'd like some opinions on what is best with this time-frame please. Works out at about £63 per week.

I will add I have done matched betting which I am not able to make anymore from.

Thanks for your help

    Hi Jack

Just some of the ideas that come to mind for quick cash:

Any items you no longer need you could sell? - DVD's. old mobiles and gadgets on either E bay, Music Magpie or Ziffit

Does you job allow overtime at all or could you get some evening work via a part time job?

Are you able to complete any of the bank account switches that are available?
  • Difficult to get that from just the usual survey sites etc. Have you considered medical trials?

  • Surely evening/weekend bar work would easily cover this?

Easiest way of making money is getting a job. If you want £500 in 8 weeks then youll need to have worked about 61 hours on min wage.

My go to for this would be a care agency. Guaranteed to be recruiting, usually zero hours so fairly flexible, and you should be able to get 61 hours in a week, as a newbie though expect to build up hours over a few weeks.
  • I'd switch to HSBC, the bonus came through fairly quickly & was £175.00.
If you switch energy suppliers using Swagbucks I got 2000 Swagbucks for that and that equates to £20.00 plus saves money on your utility bills.
I don't know how well this would work, but I sell my Clubcard points to my mum for less than they're worth because I'd rather the cash than a restaurant voucher.
    I know that doesn't total £500.00 but it'd be a good start!
  • It may seem obvious but cut out all unnecessary expenditure including subscriptions.  Before you buy anything ask yourself if you really need it.  Before you food shop check to make sure you're only buying exactly what you need.  Sell anything you don't use any more.  Facebook Marketplace is great for this as there are no fees and the buyer usually collects.
    Don't mess with pensioners.
