Pension suggestions

Wondering if anyone could help out here

Head is all over the shop with my pension currently paying in 1000ish a year which is way off what I need

Looking at salary sacrifice calculator and this appeals to me however

Every time I ring my employer about a pension they don't want to no , don't get any info or they never seem to be bothered

I've done calcs and from the salary calculator I gather I'm on auto enrolment at 4%

Where do I go from here I believe my employer won't want to no If I ask about salary sacrifice

What are my options if they say no to salary sacrifice can I up my auto enrolment ? I know about LISA but is there any other way of contribution before tax and NI

Thank you

Instead of presenting them with a problem ('employee wants to do something which will require us to engage brain/do some admin'), try selling the idea to them: 'Would you like to reduce your NI bill?' and then point them in the direction of a site giving simple directions on how this can be accomplished e.g. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/salary-sacrifice-and-the-effects-on-paye

If they still say no, you can increase your own contributions.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Offering salary sacrifice is at the discretion of your employer. If they don't then it's tough.

Does your employer allow you to contribute a higher % from your salary than the default 4%.
