Do apps really pay you money? Why?

I've been using jobspotter for about a week now and have managed to earn over £16 on it so far so I thought I'd download some more apps to try and get a bit more. Roamler has good reviews but is a bit confusing and I've managed to earn £3 on Curious Cat but I don't understand. Are these apps legit? Why would they pay mine for pictures and survey answers? 🤔 Has anyone cashed out on any of these apps?

    You want to be using

    Roamler
    StreetSpotr
    BeMyEye
    FieldAgent

Clients go to the companies above and pay them to help collect market research data which is where you and your photos/questions come in ;)
