Fox Poo and ED

Heh

Well, the two are kind of related....

1. I have now been BR for 8 months. Only 4 for months until automatic discharge.

2. As you know, the OR is in the process of setting up my IPA of £70 pcm. Now, all well and good, except the house I currently rent a room in leaves a bit to be desired! One of my flat mates works as an escort, is always stoned, and has late night guests that smoke shed loads (I'm asthmatic and moved into what was described as a non- smoking house) and fall down the stairs in drunken stupors. Live and let live, but not right under my nose thank you!

The house comes with a cat that rolls in fox sh** and then sleeps outside my bedroom door because it loves me. I thought I liked cats, but the hair all over everything is awful! Finally, the area I live is dominated by foxes that crap everywhere! I haven't been able to open my bedroom window for weeks because of the smell outside. Then there was the time I found a mound of fox poo on the kitchen floor...

O.K. so I've decided to move. For a bankrupt not an easy prospect as I have pretty much no savings - I need to get a deposit together & money for the removal van. I plan to do this by starving myself for the next few months. The thing is, I've had it with sharing, and am going to rent a studio/ 1 bed flat. This will seriously hike up my expenditure from £600 to probably £800. Can anyone envisage the O.R. preventing this? Surely I can't be made to live in a manner I don't wish to...

Well you win the prize for bizarre thread title anyway. A real !!!!!!! moment.:D

I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem as long as your expectations are reasonable (and they seem to be to me). With your OR I wouldn't like to place bets though.

Do you feel like just asking them if it's OK?

    Hi Neko,

I would have thought a letter from your doctor explaining that your existing accomodation is detrimental to your health, and you need to find somewhere else to live would be sufficient. Providing the flat you're looking at is not considered to be palatial then the O.R can't object.

Why not just do it and present the O.R with a "fait acomplis" and a revised I&E Account for your new flat; no more escorts, drugs and drunks; no more foxes; no more IPA.:D :D

You've probably got past the point where grovelling around your O.R is going to make any difference to your discharge date, so what have you got to lose?

I can see that an OR might well object if you had a large IPA and you suddenly decided to go for a much more expensive property for no good reason. In effect you would be putting that income beyond the reach of the OR/creditors which isn't allowed.

But for a small change for a good reason where the proposed IPA is marginal? A fair OR should allow that in my opinion.

Well, it would almost certainly mean no IPA (again). And I don't think my OR would be O.K. with it. But I really can't stand the smell of fox crap or the sight of other peoples pubic hair...
