In the grand scheme of things will they really be that pedantic over 4k? It's not like it's an earth shattering amount and I also have my NHS salary that goes up even if I stay in the same role.

It's not being pedantic, it's assessing a case subject to rules agreed with the financial regulator.

You aren't asking for an extra £4k, when you scale it up you are asking for closer to £20k of borrowing.

Occasionally a lender will go against certain policy elements when they have made a mistake. However, in this case, its not Halifax's fault the income was keyed wrong so I wouldn't expect them to break any rules over it.

For what it's worth, there are lenders that use the before tax figure for income purposes. It's just that Halifax aren't one of them

Give this Broker this week to sort this situation, if they do not, speak to a Broker that specialises in Professionals.
