Fancy Dress Goddess costume

Hi, this is my very first posting!!
as the people I work for are weeks behind paying my wages I have no money and I am going to my best friends party at the weekend. She has given it a Gods and Goddesses theme, does anyone have a bright idea or a brilliant suggestion to help me out. I'm totally stuck!
thanks
Love this site, :T

to be cheap you could always go with the roman toga feel!
quite simple all you need is a white bedsheet! (look up toga pictures on google!)
just dress it up with some fancy plastic tiara (get from a charity shop or woolies for about £3!) , some strange makeup, and perhaps make some cardboard brooches and paint them gold
finish it off with some sandals! (get some flip flops for liek £2 itl do the job fine!!)0 -
Welcome to MSE glossy blue! :hello: You'll never leave you know

Green Goddess - khaki/brown or green clothes if you have them with a fire extinguisher or a bucket of water.
If your confident go in normal clothes and say "but I am a goddess"
Hope you have fun at the party! cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

If you want a sexy toga just get a white bikini top and a cunningly placed toga. Also bouffant type half-hair up with curls coming down at the back is also a bit greek-y.
Alternatively wear whatever you want and make up a G0d
I know its none of my business but I do hope your pay is sorted out soon - have heard too many horror stories about people not being paid for ages and eventually having to quit and never getting the money back...0 -
Thank you so much for your great suggestions, my money worries are giving me brain freeze.
I can’t go for the sexy thing, far too shy, nor can I go for the confident “I’m a Goddess” wish I could, but could definitely go for the Green goddess with a fire extinguisher. I had another idea which is to go as Skadi, Norse Goddess of Winter, I can borrow a white cloak and wear a white dress and wear ivy in my hair. One of these will definitely work.
sharkey, thanks for that, I hope the money works out soon too or Christmas will be a nightmare, it was last year!0 -
Sorry, can someone explain the 'green goddess with a fire extinguisher' thing to me please, I don't get it ... it's probably my complete lack of sleep in the last fortnight but I am now intrigued!!!That's Numberwang!0

Green goddesses are Bedford army fire trucks - http://www.ayeready.org/green_goddess/greengoddess.html
I remember them being used when the firefighters were on strike a few years back.:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0
