Savers MultiVitamins

Are Savers MultiVitamins exactly the same corresponding ones in the major high street supermarkets?

A very good question.   However, it is not an easy one to answer.  The following are just my observations and these may differ from those of other forum members.
I don't take multivitamins but I do take certain supplements for various conditions, as directed by medical staff I have visited in the past.  I take a lutein supplement (advised by a consultant ophthalmologist), vitamin D and also Omega 3 (on the advice of GPs).
It's not the same as drugs prescribed by medical practitioners to treat such things as pain, infections etc where you can usually see/feel some kind of a result.  I find that taking my supplements does not provide me with any noticeable changes to my well-being so I have no idea whether the supplements I buy from supplier "A" are any better than those from supplier "B".
In conclusion, I cannot see why "Savers" brand of multivitamins would be inferior to other makes.  Only by sending various manufacturers' tablets for analysis would you be able to get this sort of information.

  • Yes they’re the same, the most important thing to look for when buying any vitamins are the NRV nutrient reference value. This is the amount of nutritional content contained within the tablet in ration to put daily recommended intake. You will find many of the bigger and more expensive brands have very low NRVs of important vitamins like D, Zinc etc. This is why I take the main ones separately   alongside a ‘multi vit’. Can finally feel a difference in taking vitamin D as a tablet in its own right!
