What are some basics of starting a market stall?

Hi, any start up advice from any current or ex market stall traders or anyone that knows something on the subject is very appreciated. I'm thinking of selling food (sandwiches, hot dogs).
If I buy a ready stall which I can transport with my car on the days I'm selling (as I would be a casual trader, not a permanent one) where will I get electricity or gas from as it would be on the street and not in the indoor market?

Are you thinking of a burger van rather than a stall in an outdoor market?
If this is an organised market then they may provide an electricity connection ;- definitely not gas - you would need bottled gas.
These stalls are regulated you don't just turn up, expect visits from your local council looking for hygiene and health and safety issues - fridges, cooking, food preparation.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
And food stalls are likely to be refused if they are already fully served with them.

Food needs to be licensed by the council and you are given a spot to trade from as another poster said spots are hard to come by, generally full.
Licensing means certificates and courses to prove your eligibility for a licence.0 -
You also need insurance, relevant food hygiene certificates, traders licence etc,
Food suppliers, food cartons,
I suggest you go and talk to a local market trader and ask them the questions, get work with them so you can see what it is really like.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Permanent would almost always get preference over a casual trader.0
