Royal London payment issues?

My father has been in receiving a small, regular pension payment from Royal London since his retirement in 2002. Last week, he noticed that he had not been paid the amounts due in December and January. He contacted the company and was told that Royal London are not making any pension payments at the moment due to 'technical problems'.

I've not been able to find any mention of such problems in the news or on social media, I was wondering if anyone else had heard any similar stories, or was my father being fobbed off?

What type of pension, which company did he speak to ? Sounds like he is being fobbed off somewhere, I very much doubt Royal London have stopped paying out.

That sounds very odd! Might it be a good idea for you to speak to RL (with his permission of course) on your father's behalf?

I know royal London drawdown cases haven't stopped paying. We have a few GAR annuities in payment but no-one has come to us saying they have not been paid. I havent seen any notice published by RL indicating that they are having problems.

I wonder if there are some wires crossed somewhere or a fob off answer.
