Early repayment

in Cutting tax
I’m after a Income tax repayment as early as possible.
I’m in PAYE and complete a SA return.
For 19-20 HMRC will owe me a refund as they muddled up my tax code. I don’t have anything on my P11D.
I can submit my tax return as early as 7 April say or later when I get my P60, P11D etc in July.
My question is, will HMRC repay in April based on my SA return ? Or do they wait until P60 and P11D etc come thru.

Why can't you get your tax code corrected before the end of the tax year?.......assuming you are still employed.0

Thanks. Does anyone know the answer to my question ?
( it won’t work to get my tax code changed. I tried already. They adjusted it to try and recover some tax, as I moved onto pension salary sacrifice from personal contributions in the year. Guy on phone wouldn’t change it). I may try again though0 -
You may get it in days after you file it......you may not, depends if it's selected for further checks.
Not convinced you will be overpaid tax in the circumstances you describe anyhow.0 -

As you expect to receive a P60 you are presumably still employed in which case the earliest you could expect to receive the refund is through your wages at the end of February (or whenever your next pay day is).I don’t have anything on my P11D.I can submit my tax return as early as 7 April say or later when I get my P60, P11D etc in July
Those two comments don't make sense, if your employer has nothing to declare on your P11D why would they send one to HMRC?
I tend to agree with BoGoF, if a change of tax code isn't possible then the comment below is likely it be true. Alternatively you could explain a bit more about what's happened and we may be able to help you resolve this without you dragging it out till mid April. Not convinced you will be overpaid tax in the circumstances you describe anyhow.
The fact that you have mentioned salary sacrifice is a bit of a red flag as people posting on here and the pensions board do tend to make these more complicated than they are and seem to confuse HMRC advisors in the process.0
