How many Global Funds or IT's?

it was only a mistake if your reason for selling JEO was misjudged. It was not a mistake if you had a sound reason for selling but it happens to have gone up in the last month (largely because of a shrinking discount).I invest mainly in global IT’s, however I do sometimes think that geographical regions would be better. As an example I cashed in on JEO which now appears to be a mistake!
As an aside, I owned Jupiter European until last summer when Darwell announced he was moving on. Although I generally prefer OEICs to ITs, I would never have bought JEO because his level of investment in one company made me uncomfortable, and those Wirecard chickens certainly came home to roost.0 -

I must admit I was always happy to hold JEO but had deep thoughts about the large Wirecard holding. However, Darwell has since mentioned he would reduce his holding in Wirecard and never hold such an high stake in another company. The Wirecard share price is now well on the way to recovery and the JEO share price is almost at an all time high so I think I jumped ship prematurely because I still believe he his a good manager and talks a lot of sense. I may buy back in at some stage (I did sell at a good share price of 890).0 -
If the discount reverses its movement of recent weeks (ie if the discount widens again) you may be able to buy back in at much the same price that you sold.I must admit I was always happy to hold JEO but had deep thoughts about the large Wirecard holding. For me there was a second reason to sell, which was that Darwell's style is similar to Nick Train and Terry Smith and, as much as Darwell impresses me (his Wirecard obsession aside) I wanted to reduce my exposure to that style of investing.0 -

Darwell has reduced his stake in Wirecard from around 17% to 10%.0
