By comparison, one we did earlier this week was 0.16% for platform, 0.25% for funds and 0.5% for adviser.   IFA platforms have been getting cheaper over the last year and 0.1x%-0.2x% is more typical nowadays.
    Qed.
This is from another thread, an  hour ago.
That is not touting for business.    The poster on that thread had posted their charges for a tied provider and their concerns about the adviser going restricted.  I was giving a comparison so they knew where they stood.   From what the other IFAs have posted, their pricing is in a similar ballpark and 0.50% for adviser is hardly surprising. It is the dominant figure used by most advisers.

lets not forget that many of your threads seem to moan about charges.  I don't see why it should be ok for you to post about hypothetical/fake charges but not others using real prices or examples.

if you have evidence of me touting for business then you should report it to the board as its a breach of board rules.  Be aware that board did ban someone some time back for making similar false allegations on a repeated basis.

ZPZ, you are overstepping the line.

I notice you haven't quoted SonOf when they have offered the opinion that a poster should DIY.

I would agree that ZPZ owes SonOf an apology.

Having spent some time on this forum, I find SonOf’s posts very useful.
The example fees quoted are just that: examples, and help shape an understanding of the sort of things one might see.  I’ve directly messaged him/her (in their previous incarnation!) and had helpful direct responses that also did not “tout for business” in any way.

It’s fine to understand and even encourage DIY for those who are able and interested enough: this forum is about saving money, after all!
It is, however, very wrong to hold a grudge against an entire industry because of a grievance that “went through the process and failed you”.
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!
