Lender & Reporting to Credit Reference Agencies

Hi everyone,
Me and my partner bought our first house in September last year. My partners credit history wasn't the best so we ended up with a non high street lender on a 2 year fix.
After the two years are up we would like to try and get with a high street lender, however this depends on my partners credit record improving. My issue is that the lender we are with is only reporting to Experian and Equifax in my name, and not my partners. Therefore there is no record of her making regular mortgage payments.
I have brought this up with the lender a couple of times but don't seem to be getting anywhere. Is there anything in law that says they must report on both people who are on the mortgage? (i doubt there is but happy to be corrected). Or does anyone have any idea's other than keep badgering them?
Thanks

Put in an official complaint to them. Would you mind mentioning the lender?
We have a similar thing with one of our customers with a non high street lender and I am in the process of trying to get it sorted for them. Have you asked if your broker can help?
Strictly speaking it is not part of your brokers job, but I like to think our job is more than just getting your mortgage and we are on hand for issues with the mortgage once completed to some extent.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Hi,
The lender is Vida Homeloans. I think it is just not getting through to the right person, i have called their customer services again today who said they had no record of my previous request and will 'put in another request'.
I will take your advice and write a letter of complaint. Wouldn't want to trouble my broker at this point, he was brilliant in helping us get the mortgage and he probably would chase this up for me, but i'll give it another go myself.0 -
Probably a daft question, but do your partner's names match from mortgage to credit history?I am a mortgage broker. OK, different lender to the one I am speaking with.
I cant really help, but as Kingstreet says, it may be worth making sure your names are correct and the credit report also has your current address in?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. In this situation if the broker has a bdm they could send a check my file report which shows all 3 credit reference agencies to the bdm to see if an underwriter could consider it. Not guaranteed to work but worth a shotI am a Mortgage Adviser

Thanks for the replies.
Vida called me back and have assured me that they are reporting on both of us to Experian and Callcredit. I checked the names and they match up on the mortgage account and Experian profile.
I have emailed Experian to check from their side, only issue now is that they say they will email a response, but my partner no longer has access to the email she signed up with! so i now need to figure out how to change the email address linked to Experian. Hopefully will get there in the end!0 -
Bingo! think you may have it. Just checked and it is an old address on the experian account...
Thank you very much.0 -

See my post above. I have now changed the address, would you expect it now to rectify at the next Experian update?0
