    Invest in funeral undertakers.

Bzzt. If coronavirus truly is the return of the Black Death then corpses will be collected by the government and burned en masse. Of course you could pay for a fancy funeral without the corpse but nobody's going to come because they'll be hiding indoors, and people won't have the money to pay for today's standard of funerals for all their loved ones. The funeral industry's profits will therefore collapse like everyone else's.

This is why "now is a good time to invest in X because Y is going on" does not beat the market and is defeated by the Efficient Market Hypothesis.

Buy shares in the Daily Wail, as they briefly redirect their hysteria towards Corona virus and away from Harry and Megan, boosting sales of this ridiculous tabloid comic.

Jury is still out but it seems to be less virulent than SARS , and almost all the deaths so far have been elderly with underlying health issues.

Seems counterintuitive. Treasuries would be where people would run to for safety. In fact, they already did since the outbreak.

    Pharmaceuticals too.

(Not that I am moving a finger. Stay the course. Ignore the hype).

Sorry that was short dated treasuries (bills?) not 'short treasuries'
    I think....

[my condolences to anyone who has recently lost an elderly relative with underlying health issues due to coronavirus instead of something else]

The Daily Mail would demand an extra bank holiday to celebrate.
