  • They said they wont refuse the payment (well who would) but wont agree it until i send bank statements,   their threat is they will will put my account into arrears and take further action if I dont pay their amount. So far they have not put any negative marks on my credit report. Another default wont matter as I got 5 there anyway since starting my DMP ......
Just set up the Standing Order to make monthly payments in accordance with the schedule stated in your offer email.

The only 'further action' they can take is to seek a judgement against you.  But a judge will not be pleased to have a case before them where the debtor has been keeping to a written schedule.  It just would not happen.

I recommend you block their number, so that you don't get drawn into unnecessary correspondence.  Write to them, clearly stating you only accept written communication via Royal Mail or Email.  Also say that you do not consent to home visits, SMS, phone calls, mobile calls etc...   Basically, specify your terms in writing...
I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

    I love my job

  • Hi, sorry to intrude on this thread. I switched to self-managed DMP from SC some time back and have used NEDCAB. Maybe I'm lucky but all my creditors were fine. I had problems in the beginning but it settled down while on SC. I wondered if you sent a financial statement of incomings/outgoings with the letters? This is what I do and the offers have always been accepted. One year one creditor queried the amount I spent on food, but I have a health condition, and they made a note and were ok about it in the end. If you can show the reason for the payment being different to that paid by SC they may be more understanding? But ultimately you can only pay what you can pay, and as long as you keep making regular payments of something, you're showing you're working towards paying off your debts.
