forgive me if posted in the wrong forum
Asda are doing (imo) cheap and cheerful bargain mobile of the moment. A stand contains boxes you take to the counter.
£20 paid gets you £20 in credit + £1 free and and Nokia 2310.
And not only that, if you pop a Vodafone sim in, bingo that works.
So you can either use your 20 quid credit and sell the phone on E-bay. Keep the phone and use it on Asda network. Or use it on Vodafone.:rotfl::beer::rotfl::beer:

Thanks for this. Is the phone unlocked then or is the ASDA MVNO just happen to run on Vodafone and therefore only SIMS for these two will work?0

has anyone else bought one of these? HUbby went to buy one last night and the staff didnt know how to put them through the system. do they just scan the phone box in and you get the credit automatically or do they have to add the phone credit and the price comes up at £20. When they tried to add £20 credit it kept coming up total £40. After 40 mins the CS staff just scanned the phone for £20 and said to take it home and see if when activated it adds the first £5 credit - if not we've to go back and get it sorted out <sigh> It says it can take 3 days for the credit to show
any ideas? thanks

As I see it Asda piggy back on Vodafone so just an Asda or Vodafone sim worked. I tried others, but they didn't work.
You just take the box to the counter DVD/CD/Games counter. The till op fetches the phone in its box and scans the bard code. you pay, thats it.
Inside, the sim is already inserted, you activate it by dialing any number.Quotes in context only please.0 -

Still a big display in Harbourside Asda Poole today. The credit balance is programmed in to contacts, but when I dial it the message returned is very confusing: however I think I worked it out.
#5.92 2min56 away from lower rate 3 sms from lower rate
Blowed if I know why they cant just tell you your balance, if you want to make more calls you will, not just because you are about to get the lower rate! I assume from the poster above that the first figure is £5.92, I assumed that it was 92p as they said that you were preloaded with one pound and the first five pounds took three days. Talk about confusing.
Its good to know vodaphone sims work, does anyone know if these nokias are unlockable?0 -
