Aldermore First Time Mortgage

Hi folks

Due to the obvious reasons my girlfriend and I have had to try for a mortgage through Aldermore.

Our application went in last week, the 21st, and a hard credit search was done the same day. Heard from our MA yesterday that they needed another set of statements from my girlfriend and for me to answer a question about my account, which has been done.

For anyone else that's had a mortgage through them, how long have you had to wait for a mortgage offer? We're in Scotland and had to supply them with the home report, so I'm guessing that means we wouldn't need to wait for a valuation to be done by them?

Thanks in advance :)

Been two weeks since the application went in, 11 working days. Getting a bit anxious now but I'm guessing that's a normal thing for first time buyers! Need to have a bit of patience.
  • If you're worried, give them a wee phone and see if there's any progress, or if there's anything else they need from you. Good luck!

I was going to email our broker today if I hadn't heard from him but decided against it. Feel like I would be annoying him if I messaged him asking for an update as I'm sure he would message me if he had any news.

Don't feel like that, just send a courtesy email asking if there are any updates.
