Waterproof v Rainproof

This is more curiosity than anything else 🤓

I’ve just bought a trench coat / mac from a firm going out of business for £10 I thought it worth the purchase

Having bought it and brought it home I’m now wondering if it is shower proof or rain proof By rainproof I mean something that will keep you dry in a good decent shower of rain, I’m not talking waterproof

The makeup of the coat is outer layer 65% polyester 35% cotton inside 100% nylon The manufacturer Premium Man

As I said more curious than anything else

Wear it in a shower and you stay dry it’s shower proof!

Wear it in the rain and you stay dry it’s both!

Wear it in the rain and you get wet it’s shower proof!

What does it claim to be?
Just because it's a mac style doesn't mean it's shower-proof, rain-proof or water-proof.
