Hi
Can you guys help
My wife and I live together with our son
We have a house we purchased 6 years ago but my credit rating was poor so we put the mortgage in my wife's name only, we both put about 80k in as deposit between us.
We are now remortgaging to a 5 year fixed rate mortgage and it is possible to get my name on mortgage but will cost us about 2k in legal fees to do this.
Is it worth it? What happens if we were to get divorced and my name is not on the mortgage? Will this impact on my rights?
Thanks for reading

Personally after reading stories about one spouse getting screwed over by the other one, I would think that 2K would be the best money you have ever spent in your life.
Sometimes cheapness does not pay and this is certainly one of those times.
Pay the money have your joint on that house/mortgage0 -
How can it cost 2k in legal fees?
Remortgage plus transfer of equity will cost about £600 and the lender will usually give about £300 cashback to cover most costs.0
