Hi I was wondering if any1 could help with this...
I recently tried to apply for a loan online as being self employed and having a few weeks with no work it been a difficult 2020 so far.
First of all I was accepted from a company called savvy and I entered my bank details for the loan to be credited to my bank. No money was transferred and instead I was charged a signup fee for a ‘savvy card’ that gives u discount at big retailers and high street stores. I called them and got it cancelled. The conversation lasted around 60seconds as if they do it all day long and the payment was returned to my account. I tried again for a loan and was accepted by another company and there was an option to sign up to socialscore where I are chrarged to see ur credit score. I use ClearScore so I made sure I unticked the box as I never wanted it.
Again I never received the loan, it just passed me to another site that would search for a loan for me so I gave up.
The next day £28 was taken from my account by socialscore. Again I called them and the payment was quickly cancelled no questions asked.
Now today a £30 payment from ‘mydreambudget.co.uk’ has been charged to my card. My card was left at home today while I was at work and hasnt been used all day and RBS tell me the transaction was made at 1pm.
I’ve never signed up for mydreambudget, iv never heard of it.
I noticed it too late and unable to contact them until Monday. RBS say there’s nothing they can do because the payment is still pending and not cleared🤷🏼!♂️
I asked for a new card and was told there would be no point as visa would automatically update my card details with the company 🤦🏻!♂️ !!!!!!!!!?
Has anyone ever experienced this or have any advise??

There are lots of warning posts here if you search. The type of companies you are signing up to don’t give loans, they are brokers who pass your details on to others to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. In other words they prey on desperate people.
Giving your bank details without a loan is a warning sign, as is an application fee.
Are you unable to get credit or a loan from your bank or a mainstream lender? You could try an eligibility calculator to see your chance of getting accepted.0 -
Yes my advice is to stop searching for a loan.
If your struggling for work either consider adding another string to your bow or look for another form of income.0 -
Was it £30 exactly or £29.19.
Of the latter you have signed up for a free 5 day trial and the £29.19 Is the monthly fee
You can cancel with them on their website. But they won't refund. Have you scoured the t's and cs of the site you signed up to for credit?0 -
Hi,
That has just just happened to me recently by 'my dream budget.co.uk'. It was the same thing applying for a loan. But luckily I had my card frozen so it stopped them robbing me. I always freeze my cards online to prevent this while applying. Check if RBS does that online. This is unfornate I feel your pain. Next time have your cards frozen.0
