Official Receiver doesn't charge you for claiming PPI

Right I have just got off the phone to the insolvency customer service line.
They said I WILL NOT recieve any scary bills from the OR even though Allay hss got the ball rolling fot me to claim PPI, and Allay certainly won't charge me.
Basically what happens is any successful claims on PPI sold to be before I went bankrupt will automatically go to the OR, but there isn't charges towards me for that. And if some claims slip the net and come to me I have to notify the insolvency team straight away and it will all have to go back to the OR. Because some companys on a successful claim doesn't notify the OR, so I have to be honest and tell them.
I even told the insolvency service all the scaremongering that goes on here and she said its obvioisly people pretending to know everything but haven't a clue what they are talking about. I wish I rang them sooner because I might get a good nights sleep now.
I have been worried sick I will incur all these charges from either Allay or the OR but its all nonsence.
The only time I would get charges or chased for money is if.a successful claim came to me and not the OR and I didnt tell the OR, then and only then would I get chased for money.
So bottom line is I won't be a penny richer from these claims, but then I won't be charged a penny either.
Hope this clears up things for future readers of this thread.

If you’re contacted by a claims management company
You do not need to process the claim yourself as this will be done by the Insolvency Service. If a claims management company contacts you and encourages you to make a claim you should decline and speak to the official receiver. You should do this even if they say your claim is not affected by your bankruptcy.
If you continue to make a claim after bankruptcy you may be responsible for paying the claim company’s fees and commission out of your own pocket. This is because your bankruptcy estate is entitled to receive all of the money.
For further information, contact the Insolvency Service PPI team.

As per your other thread, no one said the OR charges, we’ve all said Allay do and will.helpful tips

Well I told the insolvency service my situation and of course they have heard of Allay and they said theres nothing to worry about.
Even Allay said the same. The insolvancy officer I spoke to is even a member on here and said they browse the site regularly, so I am hoping they might read all this and clear it up from their perspective.0 -
Mouse007 I have clearly mentioned that I already contacted the insolvency office this morning bang on opening hours.
They told me theres no charges.0 -
brettcta, quite a few said the OR would have charges but they confirmed today thats all nonsense.
I'm tired now of hearing all the scaremongering on here and even told the insolvancy officer this and she said take no notice and that's why we are here to clear up this sort of thing.
Too many has cried wolf on here now for me to believe anything which is a shame. Surely admin should do more to ban these idiots.
I come on here with the intention of friendly advice as I'm always polite myself, but ended up having at least 2 sleepless nights this week wondering what's going to happen, and even told the insolvency officer all this, she just told me I should have rang them first, but I didnt think of doing that.
Too many on here have chips on their shoulders and its not right. People come on here for help and advice, not grief.0 -
The OR will take their fees from any money sent to them by Barclays. No one said they would charge you directly, it means they deduct it out of this £50k you seem to think you’re getting.
Allay have no way of claiming their fees from OR and will chase you for them.helpful tips

brettcta how many times do I have to mention, Allay said they dont work that way. I rang them at least twice now about it, they said they work on a no win no fee basis, and the insolvency woman I spoke with confirmed it aswell as they are aware of Allay.
I didnt say for sure its 50k I'm getting, but I have 26 claims all together with just Barclays alone, so statistically its quite a sum altogether potntially so the insolvancy woman reckons, especially as one succesful claim has happened already which wasent Barclays.
I'm aware I wont get a penny now, but work it out yourself, I went bankrupt for 38k, so its starting to look like somones going to make a profit from my PPI which is the part that doesnt feel fair to me. I get that I should pay back the 38k had I get the chance, but to me this is my chance to pay it back in a round about way, but not for the OR to gain out of it. If you think about it surely they should have encouraged more to claim their PPI then they could have had a fortune back.0 -
You’re either an idiot, in deep, deep denial or both.
Re your last point, the OR is undergoing a large scale operation later this year to receive PPI payouts on behalf of bankrupts like yourself.
Bankrupts won’t be notified, it’ll just be sent to the OR.
That’s my last post on this, over and out - you’re a clownshoes joker. G’luck.helpful tips

One more try. Please listen.
Allay are not impartial, they are misleading you because they stand to gain financially. The people on this forum have nothing at stake and are trying to help you avoid making a mistake.
Allay said "no win no fee" but they are tricking you - and if they win (i.e. OR gets paid) then they want their fee (from you, not from OR). This is the official government advice as shown by the link posted by Mouse007.0 -
I didnt say Allay dont gain financially out of it, but the insolvancy team and even Allay themselves explained it to me that they get their percentage from who ever wins the claim. Whether that be the OR or me.
I don't take kindly in being called an idiot. Ok I'm not an expert in this field far from it but I'm not an idiot.
I have taken steps in ringing both the insolvancy team and Allay and even Barclays and non of them are saying what you lot are saying, and they certainly wasent rude.
I have explained and relayed everything I know from them.0
