Llyyds Bank 'cannot' stop sending mail for someone who no longer lives at my address

I had a similar problem with the AA a few years ago, several letters kept coming even after I sent them back "Return to Sender, Not Known at this Address". In the end I found the CEO's email and contacted him. He apologised and it stopped.

The addressee had been very crafty. My address had been mine for almost 20 years and the street name was slightly different: one letter added, the house number was the same. In the nearby town I found what should have been the equivalent number amongst 9 new build houses, in 3 blocks of 3. the first block of 3 was present, the second had not been built and was waste land. The3rd block was present. How crafty was that?
During all the previous letters being sent back, I received a phone call from an AA person who would not believe that I was not the person whose name (totally different to mine) was on the envelope. Sometimes you despair of the mentality of people who do not see reason because it does not fit their blinkered view.

Difficult to tell without the rest of the story that would allow what you've written to make any sense, but if someone was going to use a deliberately corrupted address for some sort of gain, it would seem extremely unlikely that they'd only use that address for the AA, so my money would be on it being a simple inadvertent typo by one of the parties....
