Freegle now has jobs listed on their site

If you are a member of Freegle you will probably already have seen the job ads at the top of the page or at the bottom of any emails that you get from them.

For non members you could join up to see the jobs, just go to https://www.ilovefreegle.org and enter your postcode to get to your local group.

or the jobs are listed here at https://www.ilovefreegle.org/jobs and you just enter the location that you are looking for a job and it should sort that for you.

It all costs nothing to use and the Freegle UK group gets a small donation every time you click on a job ad.
You may also find something you need listed on your local group as well :D

To be honest ... it sounds like a great way to encounter tight-fisted, selfish, new bosses.... who probably don't have the first clue about how to treat people decently or stick to employment law.

"Proper firms" won't use it I bet.

I did type in my closest two big towns.... 0 results.

it appears at first try to be a scraper, taking advertised jobs off other sites and listing them on the freegle job board, if my experience of putting in two local postcodes for Milk n Beans is anything to go by.

Blimey, I thought that went out with the ark. I had a website where I'd do a bit of scraping ... I soon removed it when Google did one of their updates (probably close to 10 years ago now!).

For SEO Google frowns on that, I doubt freegle have in any way funnelled and filtered them to ensure they're relevant. They'll plummet as Google looks and thinks "what the heck" and drops them to the bottom of their search listings.

Hi there - couple of quick points:
    1. The jobs aren't scraped - that would be weird and probably not legal. There are various firms who provide a standard way of getting them (via an API). Freegle currently uses one called AdView.
    2. We search on locations to show people jobs close them. The partner we use (AdView) has a few issues with their search, but it's broadly ok.
    3. They don't really show up on pages that Google cares about, so they won't affect search results.
