Dental Retainers

I did a course of invisalign several years ago, it worked well but at the end the final retainer wore out and my teeth eventually went back to how they were (and possibly a little worse).

I want to try it again but I'm not sure I would stick to wearing an overnight retainer for the rest of my life.

Has anyone any experience with having a fixed retainer? Good/bad?

Invisalign has its shortcomings in the way it moves teeth which means it is much more likely to relapse than other types of brace treatment.

Permanent retainers are wires that are glued onto the back of the front teeth only. They will need replacing from time to time.

Make an appointment with an orthodontist who can discuss the pros and cons of several different types of system and retainers rather than with a dentist who just does Invisalign.
