The reason I was trying to open one was that it allows you to schedule regular withdrawals, £x on the 28th each month.

Anyone else know of a decent paying easy access account that allows repeating scheduled withdrawals?

Regular withdrawals of the same amount on the same date to the same place?

Isn't that just a standing order?

Yes but, it is rare for a savings account to offer such an option. Some offer future dated withdrawals but I hadn't come across a savings account with that 'repeat' feature.

Al Rayan presently does. I use it extensively as I have their 1.6% "profit" account. But they only pay a variable 1% "profit" to new applicants now, and they may well withdraw the functionality. It's a bit of a faff to find out how to set it up as you need to log into their old online banking for it.
  • So that's another "Best buy" savings rate gone.

Only flexible product currently on their site is their Cash ISA at 1.27% var

    Savings account?
  • I assume the OP is looking at storing a pot of money in a savings account and then withdrawing same amount monthly to a linked account in order to fund a regular saver.

Advertised on MSE as "drip feeding".

    So yes, savings account :)

This thread reminded me of my Ford Flexible Saver account so I'll start to use it again. I opened it only to gain access to the dear departed regular saver. The interest rate is 1.35% so I'll get some use out of it while it lasts.

    Thanks!

I was thinking you could do both with a current account...

Post Office is good for it though.

Just for context, I have sold some investments (approx £20k), and will be salary sacrificing the equivalent gross amount in to my pension and was looking to make up reduced net amount from this pot each month, i.e. approx £1650pm. So, fixed amount over a fixed period (12 months).

Current accounts tend to have quite low balance limits for the interest.
