Kevicho Update

Options
Just wanted to post something as a record for future reference, and also if it gives anyone any ideas then cool.

Current SOA

Personal

Phone - 15pm - o2 monthly contract
Internet - 30pm - Zen internet - worth the money to me, as i use it a lot and there service and system rock.

Work (all claimed as expenses)

Travel 80-100 - (dependant on 4 or 5 week month) pm, (20 per week) I get weekly bus tickets which I can use on train and tram because i work and live across areas i am stuck with the extra 5 quid a week.
It is all classed as expenses as i contract, but its still coming out of my pocket.

Postage - 3pm have to post expenses to employers
Exam fees - 75pm, i aim to take one microsoft exam a month for MCSE certification, will boost my career and add qualifications to the experience i have

Loan repayment 255 per month - hopefully this will change

Income can be between 1250 and 16/1800 depending on whether its a 4 or 5 week month.

As it stands christmas is completely paid for, bar socialising, but i aim to have a quiet one this year.

I also recently have obtained a second current account from A&L just used for spending money, which i have now set up a standing order to pay money into every month.

This has no overdraft, and my premier account will be locked up in a safe place at home, and no longer be used.

Current cards/debts stand at

Egg card - positive balance of 75 pounds (dont ask lol)
Amazon card 0 - to be cancelled, used it for 10 pounds off at amazon for chrimbo shopping.
Loan - including this months payment should be a settlement figure of just under 6500.

New account will be R&B graduate account, which will have an OD limit of up to 2K (interest free), so i am planning on using that and combining it with a balance transfer (if i can get the fee down - researched other cards so have my figures ready) to a better rate.

I will then be paying bare min on egg (no figure yet) until the 0% offer runs out, and also will put a 100 back a month into the graduate account, to show im paying it back.

Then whatever money is left over every month will be going into savings (bradford and bingley account opened :) ) until it is time to pay off egg, leaving the graduate account.

My aim is april, but i think ive overestimated my earnings (damn new contractor laws) so may be May, but this is the start of the road home :)

  • Can you not get the egg money back & transfer to the CC? Well done though, you're going great guns! Just beware the "nearly there!" feeling - I had it when I got my CC's down to 1700 & went mad for a bit and will be paying for a long while to come!

I had my loan down to 2500 in january, but my business and not working combined with a low patch sent me back to 8K again so i know that feeling already lol.

The egg money will pay for the balance transfer so im not too fussed about that, gives me a small start to work with
