Mortgage and House insurance

Hi to all,

Having been reading all about reclaiming of various charges, I was wondering ??..
Have recently paid off my mortgage after 30 years or so.. and during that time I was penalized 50 p per month initially,( it went up over the years), because I did not want to get my house insurance through the ( lender C&G ). In fact I got exactly the same house insurance from exactly the same insurance company without going through the C&G for about 150 pounds less per year.
Yet even after explaining this the C&G still insisted on stinging me 50p per month.
Does this sort or penalisation transgress any rules with a possiblilty of reclaiming the charges ???. heres hoping ;-).

take care all
