    Cold someone explain (ELI5 style) what "period poverty" is, when tampons cost 16p each?

    Specifically, why - if it's so widespread, as it so apparently is - these people aren't getting the benefits they so clearly need.

    It's possible that their parents, who claim the benefits, consider food and heating to be more important.
