Buy to let - how much can I borrow

Evening,

What are the rules on borrowing if you want to rent out your current property and to buy another, are they quite strict on how much they would lend if you already have a mortgage on a buy to let?

I’m guessing I won’t be able to borrow what I could if I didn’t own a house

Thanks.

  • A lot of lenders will disregard background buy to let if they deem them self financing.

Different lenders have different approaches to background properties

Your broker will take this in to account when sourcing a lender

I will ask the question to my advisor, my only problem is I don’t want to rent it out and then end up them saying we won’t lend you this much.
