Baked beans will keep in the fridge for a couple of days if you transfer them to a dish and cover them. I use a microwaveable glass casserole pot without any problem.

I'm an Aldi shopper too (this was my end of the week top-up) and I wouldn't even consider doing my main shop elsewhere. I agree abut Aldi beans, too, but small tins don't leave any waste if I just want one helping and Aldi only sells large tins.

Beans will keep 2-3 days in the fridge, and/or could even be frozen.
I'd say that baked beans are one of my main foods/staples, so I never have a worry about opening a big tin.
I've bought some small pots of sandwich filler in the past, square tubs with a lid; I keep those and just open a tin, spoon out half or more into the pot, put that in the fridge and use the rest of the tin for today's meal.

Beans on toast is always a legitimate meal in my house, with or without a bit of cheese on top :)

I probably get through 5-6 cans of beans a month, using 1/3rd of a can or 1/2 a can at a time. So that's 10-18x a month I'm eating beans.

Mostly beans/toast, or beans with a cooked breakfast, or beans in any chilli or other SC meal I'm tossing together. Beans will also regularly be served with pies/chips/beans, chips/beans, omelette/chips/beans, pasty/chips/beans, pasty/beans, toad in the hole/mash/beans.

My number one "go to" veg of choice :)

Sainsburys are not cheap, I price compare items between Asda and Sainsburys for our shopping and about 95% of items are cheaper, or much cheaper at Asda. The Which report was unrepresentative as relied on big name brands and also probably happened to be the ones "on offer" for that inspection. In the real world, Lidl, Aldi and Asda are the only decent priced supermarkets in the UK.

I wouldn't call Asda cheap. When you are used to Lidl/Aldi prices on food Asda are just as expensive as the others.

I would have to disagree, Asda are definitely cheaper than Tesco and Sainsburys.

Asda are quite a bit cheaper than Morrisons, Ocado, Tesco and Sainsburys for similar items.

Also their own-brand cheaper products are generally at least as good as the named brands, so we get those in preference; even own-brand items are Asda are far cheaper than similar from Sainsburys yet same quality. That's my continued experience anyway.

Aldi and Lidl are fine, we get some things there (eg Lidl parmesan) however they don't stock quite a number of items we buy as I do a lot of home cooking; in contrast when I go to Asda they have the range of products and good prices. Also, Lidl and Aldi's prices are not as cheap as they once were, prices keep creeping up; people's perception they are cheap stores are not always accurate.

Just goes to show how you can manipulate statistics to get the outcome you want. Which? will have done themselves no favours here in trying to maintain the image of a brand you can trust.

I concluded that Which? was pretty flawed some years ago when they reviewed a product I knew quite a lot about. After that it seemed reasonable to assume they were just as unreliable in areas where I had no knowledge at all.

All the same, I think they've excelled themselves with this ridiculous claim.

    Disraeli was spot on.

Which? is going to have to do a lot to redeem itself in they eyes of the public after the flawed structure of this comparison, which didn't seem constructed with those seeking value for money in mind. On this occasion we are right to put our own experience above the survey results.
