Hello

I need to get my hair cut, and am looking for a reasonably priced hairdresser in Bath that will do exactly as I say. The reason I say this, I went to a certain chain of 'cool' salon (T&G), and I wanted my hair cut and coloured. the colour was fab, but the cut was not. I specifically said that I wanted to grow my hair and get rid of the layers, so the length needed to cutting to even it out.

Anyway, I end up with long hair at the bottom, and the top bit of hair are short. It does look nice, however, I told her I was growing my hair. So I am annoyed. So I just left and didnt bother to complain. As I wont be going there again, I just want to find a hairdresser who does listen, and does what I want them to do!

Any recommendations?? I can travel to Bristol too, so if you know of anywhere, give me a shout!

Cheers

I use SK109 for a cut and colour in Bristol and am very impressed- they also have free drinks!

SK109 109 Coldharbour Rd. Tel: (0117) 924 7981 This friendly hairdressing salon is well known for its colouring and highlights. Cuts are just as good, though, costing anything from £22-£28. Pay £60 for full head of highlights, £45 for half-head. NUS discount: 10% Mon-Tue.

If you can get to Sea Mills or Shirehampton (NW corner of Bristol) then I go to Touch of Class and get what I ask for!

I go to Cohesion in St George in Bristol for cut and highlights (first time I went was for a total restyle from bum length hair to above shoulder length!) and they've always been fantastic.

  • Try Jane at Bryant and co at the bottom end of Thornbury high street, we live in Worcester and my fiancee still travels the two hour round trip to get her hair cut there.

She always comes back looking stunning and the colour is as great as the cut

    Good Luck

hmmm... can't remember the name of it (will phone friend and find out) but there's a great hairdresser's on chelsea road. it looks slightly old ladyish but is fantastically priced and the quality of the hair styling is fab. have to say, have not been there myself but have friend (aged 29- not old lady at all) that swears by it.

  • I tried a place in Bedminster recently and they did a good job of the cut (Restyle) and charged me £15 for it, it's on East Street opposite East Street Market, it's actually above another shop but the door to go in is at the side of the shop, they also don't deal with appointments so you can just go in whenever suits you.

Artizan in Bath is the best, I travel from Bristol to get my hair cut.

They have 2 salons, I use the Bartlett Street one which is the biggest I think.

You will soon be able to book an appointment online!

  • Maximum FX in Bristol is excellent they listen to what you want and won't do anything unless you're happy for them to do it - great cut too!

Any recommendation for cheap hairdresser in Bristol, not too far away from the City Centre? Or any with students discount + good cut?

I can't vouch for the quality of the cuts, but I think they teach hairdressing at some of the City of Bristol College sites, and you don't usually get much cheaper than that, if you can spare the time! They're usually well supervised as well!
