Separation

My brother-in-law has split from his partner (not married). They have a joint mortgage. She has moved out and is renting. He has stayed in the house. However she is insisting on still paying the mortgage, in full. This is concerning us. Why would she do this and how would it benefit her?

Better that the property is sold now, or get the brother in law to buy out the ex.

She probably doesnt want to be in the position that the other owner says you moved out and not paying the mortgage, its all mine now - type thing.

    Sooner sorted the better.
    Who paid what ?
Deposit? Joint mortgage so 50/50 split Unless she/he paid a larger proportion of the deposit.
She may want to make sure your Brother In Law continues to pay the mortgage or it will effect the credit score of both of them
