Will Ebay debt show on my credit file?

I sold a couple of things on Ebay a couple of months back. My account has always been hooked up top make payments automatically through Paypal but for reasons unknown it didn't this time and so I owed an outstanding £21.
Ebay is connected to my old email so I didn't know about this until I got a text from a company called Transcom, saying to get in touch with them as they were working on behalf of Ebay. I then checked my Ebay account and paid the £21.
I called Transcom to say it was settled but they still want an £8 fee. I also emailed Ebay to ask why the money wasn't take off automatically as it has been for years. No response form Ebay as yet.
Given I don't have a credit agreement with Ebay, will this ruin my credit file? I've had no missed payments on anything in years and a spotless record. I was hoping to go for a mortgage in the coming months and am terrified this will ruin it.
I begrudge paying the £8 admin fee to Transcom but will do it if it makes things easier.

It won’t show on your credit file, as it’s not a credit agreement.
The debt will not be chased for very long either.

Are you totally sure on this? Transcom are a debt collection agency working on behalf of Ebay and this website suggests that they would report it.

If this has happened, how can I prevent this destroying my chances of a mortgage?0 -

I can categorically confirm no debt to eBay will ever appear on your credit file.
The debt collection agency does not own the debt, therefore cannot share information with credit reference agencies.
Unless eBay changes it’s policies at some point.
If your still unsure, ask on the eBay board and they will confirm.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
