Does notices of bankruptcy still go in local papers?

Can anyone advise me if bankruptcy notices still go in local papers if it's just a normal simple case with no business links?

Well my local paper still publishes them in the absence of any other news of note.

When you get to a certain age, the first things I read in the paper are the "Death Notices" then the "Insolvency" notices!

Insolvencies are not removed from the Gazette, they remain there as a matter of public record.

And stay there forever. So any financial service about to loan you money will know you didn't bother paying your previous creditors back. Therefore lending at their own risk.

Removed from the online insolvency service record (given by fatbelly) 3 months after discharge (assuming no BRO/BRU).

As above, never removed from gazette.

When removed from the IIR, it's harder to 'stumble' across it (e.g. if somebody googled you), but certainly still possible via Gazette.

It's not the easiest site to use/navigate your way through mind - so only the most nosey/determined person would find you! Or as above the banks etc. if they had reason to look (we do look for people at work, but fairly rarely)
