Cashback Sites , card and inbtween help

Options
Hi all, Apologies if some of these questions been asked, but I did have a look around, I have couple questions.

I read lots positive and negative feedback on cashback Sites.

1. Am guessing it's normal for cashback Sites taking long as few months to pay cashback ? And in some cases not receiving out ?

2. all cashback Sites or by banks or cards are like offers if they are available for use you active , but can't be used multiple times, else the offer returns back

3. If am trying to save up, is it sensible to use Cards like American express for cashback ? Even if there's some form of fee to use them or monthly payments ?

4. Are these cashback Sites like quidco and topcashback legit enough to be ok with linking my card to them ?

5. Would just using Cashback features from banks be efficient enough ?

My top places I spend on are , the works , dominos , The range , b&q , Waterstones , game , Asda and Holland and Barrett . So if anyone had cashback from banks with those stores would name the bank ? Sorry for so much trouble everyone

If anyone has further tips or suggestions am all ears

I appreciate all the help and thank you :)

    1. Yes - treat the cashback as a bonus, not a guaranteed payment. There are times when it will be declined, for various reasons.

    2. The cashback sites will tell you whether the offer is for new customers only, or not. Also always worth comparing the same purchases on both TCB and quidco as the cashback amounts can change.

    3. You need to judge whether the fee on a cashback card is worth it for your individual circumstances. I don't spend enough to make it worthwhile
and I pay in full each month.

    4. They are legit but you don't link a card. You are sent through to the merchant to order in the usual way. Then if the cashback is earned there are a number of ways to claim it.

    5. Not sure what you mean, unless you plan to keep changing banks/have multiple accounts.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Thank you for the answers,

I don't attend to switch between banks for cashback, I was curious as to what shops or brands some of the banks provide cashback for. On Barclays and Santander it give a rough idea what shops you can earn cashback but not all banks have much info, am currently with Halifax, and all the cashback offers they have I never use due to not having to shop there

    Hi, updated question,

If I start getting cashback, How do I go about it e.g Do I need pay tax ? Mention it to tax people? Is best to withdraw into bank account or PayPal ? If I did use PayPal will they take X amount ? If I withdraw into bank ( do I need to explain or give information.

    Sorry with so many questions

No there is no tax implication.
Up to you whether you want PayPal or bank, no fee for paying into paypal. I get mine paid to PayPal and let it build up and then pay for things with PayPal.
If paid into your bank, you dont tell the bank, it just into your account as a credit payment.
