Mortgage application with cifas victim of impersonation

Hi
Me and partner are wanting to apply for mortgage but I have a cifas marker on my report, victim of impersonation. This is due to a fraudulent loan application last year through sunny pay day loans. Is this going to have an affect on me getting accepted?
I was rejected last year due to having that loan on y report as it was still in the process of being disputed and I rushed into it. Apparently mortgage companies won't touch you with a pay day loan on your file, nationwide anyway.

Any advice would be appreciated0

from what I have read on payday loans I think it is an issue if within 12 months because in fairness it doesn’t reflect well on your financial stability and affordability....if for instance 4 years ago shouldn’t be a massive problem
Re cifas you should be able to contact the organisation that raised it and have them promptly remove it if erroneous - they will ask for ID verification....if legitimate because someone has tried to committ fraud against you I wouldn’t have thought this would stop you getting a mortgage, again prospective lenders would just be more robust in their checks on you. Sounds like you’d benefit from speaking to a mortgage broker0 -
what does it appear as on your credit file? Did you get the loan removed or a note on file it was fraud and not your fault?
I got a mortgage with 2 cifas markers due to people applying for multiple credit cards fraudulently.
The credit searches were removed from my file after contacting the credit providers"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Thanks for coming back. Credit searches removed and to trace of loan, just a note stating that a fraudulent application was made a cifas marker stating victim of impersonation0

Yes understand that, I didn't take the loan out though, it was a fraudulent application.
It's been removed though, just the cifas marker remains.
Thanks for the advice.0
