Your funds are invested, most likely in funds. Your pension provider should be able to tell you where it is invested. Hopefully the value ofvthe investment goes up......

You do not get interest on investments . Only on cash savings .
The investment fund(s) that your pension is presumably invested in, will go up and down approx. in line with the financial markets . Normally you will get an annual statement telling you the current value of the funds, and usually it will mention how much they were worth 12 months ago. However it will also of course include the contributions you have made during the year.
If you want to check more often than once a year , you should have the ability to get on line access . If not, ask the provider/employer for a username and password .
If you do this you will also be able to change the funds the money is invested in ( if you wanted to ).

It means you get to dodge even more tax than before. It's a wonderful feeling.

    Not dodging tax at all.
