Friendly Loan...
Hello
A friend of 20 years loaned me £200 when I was moving house in mid September 2019 and I said I would pay it back end of September 2019 (money was transferred by her to my UK bank account from her NZ bank account, she lives in NZ). All of this is confirmed in writing through Instagram messages, me giving her my bank details, her saying she transferred me the money, me thanking her etc etc
I contacted her 23 Sept and again the 30 Sep in writing (through Instagram) for her bank details so I could repay her. No response. She did not respond with her bank details until 8 weeks later, in November. I said I would repay her, but I needed her postal address in NZ as well for an International transfer (which she didn’t include)
Once again I waited until last month, mid December. I finally got all the details needed. I said I would now have to repay her at the end of January as it was so close to Christmas. This all seemed fine as she had made me wait so long for the details, no contact over Christmas or New Year, until today.
Today she called me (not in writing) demanded the money back now, threatening that she would pursue it with the authorities in NZ if I didn’t. I explained that I’m paid in 3 weeks and I thought that’s what we agreed. She implied she would claim it was an ‘unauthorized’ transaction with her bank.
I know I should have made sure since September the money was put on the side. I don’t dispute i owe her the money. I made contact so many times to repay her. It is my responsibility, which I accept, but this was not unauthorized in any way.
My question is if she tries to claim this transfer was unauthorized, surely her bank can tell she made it, from her online banking, IP address etc Surely it’s a very stupid thing to claim, considering both she and I have all the Instagram messages confirming she made the transfer to me? If she did that it’s obviously a fraudulent claim on her part?
I’m not sure how else she would pursue this etc NZ to UK in the next 3 weeks.
Any advice would be appreciated
Ps I just received another message in writing stating she transferred the money to my account over 3 months ago...confirming she transferred it eg not ‘unauthorized’.

It's not been a good day for friends lending each other money on here.
She can't claim it was unauthorised, so pay her as soon as you can.0 -
Thanks for your reply. I didn’t think she could claim it was unauthorised but I started to worry0
