Hi
Can anyone advise if I can register with two NHS dentists to have two sets of dentures made, so that I have a spare set

In England (Scotland & N Ireland are different) there is no longer any such thing as "registering" with an NHS dentist. You can go to any NHS dentist you choose (if they have appointments available and are willing to see you). If they see you they are obliged to complete any course of treatment they recommend. After that they are under no obligation to see you again!
As far as I am aware however you are not entitled to two sets of dentures at NHS prices. You could of course have a second set made privately either by the same dentist (or another one) at whatever price they quote.0 -
Undervalued is right , you cannot have a second or spare set made on the NHS . In Scotland and NI you cannot be registered with two dentists at the same time.
In England and Wales there is no registration but wanting a spare set is not a valid reason for having a NHS set of dentures. You will have to pay privately for spares.0 -
And TBH the chances of finding 2 dentists with free NHS slots are pretty slim0

That depends where you are in the country.
Round here there are frequently NHS dentists advertising for patients.0 -

That's true too - there is plenty of spare capacity in some places.
But - don't be tempted to go to a second dentist with your old ones in, and hope no-one notices!
It will be picked up that you've had 2 sets by the NHS overlords - and they will come for you!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0
