  • I think YouGov just email you when they have a survey for you to do - that's the way I do them anyway. So check they've got the right email address for you and your profile is up to date
    Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Ok, so my whole 5 year plan includes CC and mortgage - CC is currently sat at 0% for 18months and mortgage is not! Have £3500 on CC which I am putting £300 a month to pay off (so will be done before interest free runs out). Question is, would I feel better squirrelling extra money onto that and getting it gone, or onto my mortgage to reduce interest? I just can't decide!!
    I have £20 from my mum I didn't expect....so CC or mortgage?

Well done on your plan. When I have 0% cc I save the amount that will pay it off in time into a regular saver by direct debit each month then use what’s left to overpay mortgage.
    good luck

If you have a predictable amount that can go to debt you can work back from the day the 0% runs out  and upto that date max out the interest bearing debt.

Another option is to also use some/all of the emergency fund at 0% end time then rebuild the savings just after.
That can bring some interest bearing debt forward.

then you have the option to roll it over to another o% card,  if you use a purchase one(no fees) you cna use regular spends to give more cashflow time.

With a mortgage rate of 1.79% the savings are minimal

So all going ok with my plan. Getting a bit nervous about government and exam decisions for this year. I spend a lot of my private tutoring time preparing people for exams. So I need to be really careful with my money decisions just in case! Building up a bit of a safety fund at same time as sorting debt which is making me feel a bit better, but could do with things being calm and normal 😬
Sold an old coat so another £10 off mortgage!

Having a bit of a reorganise this afternoon. Listed a couple of bits on facebook for sale. Another coat sold, so £3 in the pot :) And I went on national lottery because feeling lucky - bought a euromillions ticket, bought a scratchcard and won £15, so withdrew having a profit of £7.50 and that is before the euromillions draw!
Oh and reduced my phone contract to a sim only deal saving me £12.88 a month so that'll all be incorporated into my overpayment at the end of the month. I'm putting it all in a holding account rather than lots of little payments.
