Remortgage on house I own

Hi,

I own my house outright no outstanding mortgage on it.

I am wanting to remortgage to release some of the equity, to pay off some debts and so some house improvements.

House worth approx 100k want to borrow approx 50k.

What is best way to do this, go to a bank or just a normal mortgage broker ?

Thanks
Steve

Go with a while of market mortgage broker, saves you trawling through all the criteria as lenders often have limitations on the amount they will release for debt consolidation.

Possibly, see what kind of feel you get when speaking with them, if you don't like how they speak with you, find another.

Ask friends / family / workmates if any have recently (last year or two) purchased and what broker they used.
