I've not been logged on for a very long time. Life got in the way...However, during lock down and even now, as lock down is easing and I am not on facebook...I have been disposing of stuff through the olio app.
Yes, mainly it does deal with food, but it also has a non-food section and it has been a god send whilst CS's have not been open and whilst I was shielding.
Have a go, it might also help.
Stay safe everyone.

I hope recovery is going well, GQ and that you get the result you desire.
My twice postponed surgery is listed for next month. After two admissions with pancreatitis, I shall wave my pesky gall bladder goodbye without shedding a tear.
I booked an appointment and took two neatly packed boxes of saleable items to the CS after we sorted out the kitchen china and kitchenware cupboards. It now seems pointless holding on to pink floral plates just because they are "pretty" - I did enjoy looking at them but never used them. So off they went to make somebody else feel joy.
I also bit the bullet and took down my kitchen " decorative knicknack" shelf set because, oh dear, it was dusty. Most of the contents were washed and donated - it must be years since I ate a boiled egg but I had a row of " pretty" eggcups on display, more plates....shabby chic has a lot to answer for
A memo board will go up there instead, when I repurpose the canvas edge picture we don't want anymore.
Three small items of furniture went to help somebody set up home in a hurry - one request on a local fb residents' group and a two bed flat was furnished.
Lockdown has changed the way I feel about things I really thought I liked in my house - I'm not sure yet which way this will take me, but it is going to be interesting!

I had been "shielding" for 4 months and became more and more de-motivated in terms of cleaning, tidying, filing and "sorting stuff". After having my 6 monthly hospital check-up on line a couple of weeks it was confirmed that I should be extremely circumspect about mixing with people until there is a vaccine that is compatible with my immunity condition. This has given me a kick up the rear and made me determined to get BGKs on and make my home a pleasant place to be in.
Presently I am concentrating on paperwork and shipping out random Kondo I have identified, priority is cooking and gardening as these give me so much pleasure, but each day I try and do a little.
Tally so far 3 large bags to local CS and 2 more ready for wild animal rescue charity a few miles away, a little trip out next week planned.
Today I took delivery of an air fryer, in the spirit of at least 1 in 1 out I am going to try and re-home my lovely (old type) pressure cooker and the spiraliser, may add in the ice cream maker as OH seems to be as happy with a carton of SM stuff. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. I still have some bags to take to the cs. Need to do it next week. I have loads of things to ebay too but it's winter stuff so will wait a few more weeks. I'm gradually folding my clothes as it's easier to see what is in the drawers.7

I found a FB Swap Shop group and have happily (and safely) passed on a list of weird and wonderful items - the strangest being my collection of broken china that was going to become a garden mosaic but didn't. The thing that made me happiest to give away was a large leather armchair - CSs won't take individual chairs - I was afraid we'd have to break it up, but now it is happily installed as a storytime chair with a local family. I'm loving the empty space!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.8

Hi everyone, I'm struggling to part with clothes that no longer fit! I'm finding it not as easy as I thought to simply ask myself if they "spark joy" because my relationship with clothes and weight fluctuations is much more complex than that. So far I've moved some items into a storage box in my wardrobe which seems to have helped as they're out of sight but not actually donated/sold yet. My issue is that with a downsized move planned in the next few months, I'll be stuck with items I don't have room for and that also don't fit right now (but it is possible they will within a few months?!!). Any ideas on how to scale this mountain?7

1 large SS pasta type pan with glass lid went to CS this week and was immediately snapped up by a young woman with 2 children who was at the till buying other pans and housewares, the manager saw me holding the pan waiting my turn, said young person saw this and asked if it was available. She was delighted and thanked me profusely for taking it in. I felt that she might be equipping a new home, or perhaps starting up again on her own. Lovely feeling to be there at just the right time for her.
Immaculate SS pressure cooker (non electric) being collected tomorrow by someone who has been and continues to make meals for vulnerable local people, a cafe I think who started this during lockdown.
Cupboards re-organised and space found for new air fryer (which has received approval from OH who is a bit of an old stick in the mud bless him).
Currently sorting out the Covid19/Brexit/Winter supplies cupboard in utility room, will try and inventory too.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)6 -
My clearing out had slowed down to almost nothing, due to a perfect storm of closed chazzers, closed tips and serious disability caused by a postponed surgery. Surgery now done, long road of convalescence to walk, but feeling a bit more able.
Have got a few bits out to the chazzers, and am working my way through the To Read pile. Books which may appeal to mother or brother are shared with them, added to their chazzer’s donation pile. Keeps the goodness circulating.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

All I can say is that I have re kindled my love with Eb*y...using the app was the key...so much quicker to up load and I am doing nearly all the posting on line too - no queuing at PO just a weekly or fortnightly drop off. I am almost £400 up and rising. Lots also gone to CS and on fr**gle and a few sales on FB. I forgave myself a long time ago about accumulating 'stuff' and since then it has been so much easier to get rid of. I will not however 'bin' anything so very little if anything to landfill. The declutter has speeded up and really needed a boost as I had flat lined if I am honest! However a period of long reflection and daily gratitude and the momentum seems to be gathering speed Still managed to buy NOTHING other than food and what needs replacing eg a tin opener and only 4 items of clothing bought this year - needed new trousers for returning to work at beginning of term which was always in the plan. Feeling happy with it all ATM....still lots to go!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi
