How long do I have to transfer my pension?

I left my old job in October and am wanting to transfer my pension with them to a SIPP. However I am currently in a dispute about my final pay, so am postponing this until this issue is sorted, is there a limit on how long I have to transfer my pension out?

It depends exactly on the type of pension.
If it is a DB/final salary type scheme , then the transfer process is more complicated .
If it is a standard DC/money purchase scheme , then usually when you leave the company , the pension comes with you . So there is no pressing need to transfer it anywhere else but you can if you want at any time . Often it is better to leave the pension alone. I still have an ex workplace pension from an employer I left 20 years ago .
There can be some exceptions /special situations .0
