SOA - is this the right place for me?

Options
I want to do a SOA, but I'm not in debt and it does feel a bit crass perhaps to put it here, but not sure where else it fits.
I waste an awful lot of money a month, and whilst I try to budget, I fail and I'm just wanting a few pointers on where to start getting a bit more sensible with my money.
So is it okay to do it here? If not where?

Many thanks

  • You can but the Budgeting and Bank Accounts board further down would probably be more appropriate.

Or even the oldstyle board. Very friendly with loads of posters with years of experience of setting and keeping to a budget

I cant imagine anyone would be insulted if you posted as SOA and requested help on reducing outgoings.

There is certainly value in doing so and if you want to remain debt free then its important, lots of people end up back in debt because of issues with outgoings and its always useful to read the ideas.

Remember a 'debt free wannabe' can also be someone that want to avoid getting into debt
  • We are a friendly bunch so ive no objection to you posting here. If im honest im quite nosy so reading someone elses soa always teaches me how to rethink mine. One of my 20 resolutions for 2020 will be to explore 20 more threads but unfortunately its been hectic at my house so ive not written them all yet... suki1964 has made a good suggestion that i can now pinch :)

  • Thank you, I've seen on other boards people are sent here for advice. This Christmas I just completely spent too much and I've another spending month this time so I need to get a grip.
I'll try and get an SOA up tomorrow

I second the old style board, I’ve been on there for many years and have learned a lot. They’re a very lovely group on there as well. Good luck OP
  • Thank you, I've added my SOA to the o/s money saving board. It's just more tips on how to budget I need rather than reducing my bills I think

This board I think is superb at helping people budget so if you do want to post here you'll be welcomed.
