Dave Ramsey Fan Girl blasting through BS2 .. to be DEBT FREE !!

Options
Hi Guys

So I used to be semi regular Face here a year or so ago but I became side tracked by Mr Ramsey oh and running a marathon :o

Back story ..

There’s me Lisa who is now in the over 40s bracket , my Twin 17 year old boys who are guitar playing gaming angels (or so I like to think) and Molly my little girl (even if she is of the K9 variety)

My boys are my huge why .. why I try to stay fit and healthy and why I have to get in a better financial position.
They are both studying A Levels .. one wants to do cyber security/programming and the other Law, he has actually been accepted and is doing a pathways to law program which will help with uni offers and his carrier in general, oh and he’s also applied for a scholarship which would pay his uni fees .. . fingers crossed but chances are slim (as they say gotta be in it to win it though 😉) .. all these things he applied for without telling me :T:T:T

I work 2 jobs .. I’m a research scientist at my local university by day but by night (and Saturday mornings) I’m a lbs busting WW Coach, oh and I also ebay like a crazy lady in any spare time :o

I don’t earn a fortune but I live up north and I try to keep living costs to a minimum .. I’m weird as I get a better buzz (yep I know I’m old) out of colouring a square on my pay off chart than going out with the girls round the town.

The yucky bit ..

I started January 2019 with just under £30,000 worth of debt  .. with the help of Dave (my most non family favourites person) I have paid off over £18,000. I have just over £11,000 left of BS2 but I have added what is left of my mortgage on top which is an additional £25,000 .. best bit is I’m hoping that by keeping on here and with your help and that of the saviour which is Dave Ramsey and his baby steps I should be completely Debt Free by May 2021 :T:T:T

So I’m planning on trying to update here everyday with my triumphs and tribulations and any fab finds along the way ..

So thanks to anyone who has read this far and anyone in the same boat as me .... WE CAN DO THIS !!!

Wow what a fantastic amount you have paid off already. I have stumbled across Dave Ramsey on u-tube the other day and thought this is a method I could certainly go by and will be looking into it a little more.

He has loads and loads on You Tube so you can listen for free and while you declutter/find things to sell to contribute towards your emergency fund etc
