Decided to catch the train to the hearing at Bradford this morning, the train station is just opposite the courts. The first and only hitch ,it doesn't help when you leave all the papers in the car that you have left in the local train station. Good job we set out early so if we encountered any problems we had time to deal with them. Well got to the court in good time with all the nessecery paper work. A man checked the papers over ,took my money and said he would take the papers to the judge and if I would go back in an hour to pick the pick the bankruptsy order up. Went back in an hour , he gave me the papers, we went into a interview room where he rang the OR ,I spoke with him, he just asked about my bank accounts and car , he then gave me the name of the person who would be dealing with me and said she would be in touch in a couple of weeks . All that worrying and I didn't even need to go before the judge, Can't wait for OR to finish with me now, then it is finally over.

Glad that its half over for you Jaysgirl.
Everyone worries about the court and seeing the judge, but even those who do see a judge say that they're generally nice people.
Grab a drink, get a good nights sleep and relax for now!The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

My plans are to have a holiday next year ,the first in 4 years. My husband retired last year so just to spend a bit of quality time together. The odd pub lunch will be nice. It is great to start thinking about what we might do now all our money isn't swallowed up trying to pay everybody. Just hope I get to keep the car , my husband has a few health issues , he has an asbestos related disease and was diagnosed with graves disease ( thyroid) four months ago. The medication he takes lowers the immune system , so we do try to keep him away from crowded places ( public transport ) to avoid infections . So I have wrote a pleading letter for the OR and hope she is sympathetic . The car is worth about £1200 .He will be having his thyroid gland removed later which will mean he is on a different medication . But the OR does not need to know this yet. Going shopping today , will even be throwing a few luxories in the trolley , sad really when you get exited about the prospect of a cream bun LoL

Ah yes but the difference is that it is YOUR money that you are using to buy that cream bun rather than money you would otherwise be putting back into the bank and THAT is what makes the cream bun special!

Well Done, jaysgirl - I hope you enjoy life now, without the worries of debt.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I had no problem keeping my car. I told the truth - that without it I could no longer get to my place of work - and the OR said that there would be no claim on it!0
