Bought a pack of mini 'cheese and onion' rolls from a super market (as in sausage rolls but with cheese and onion instead of meat, not onion rolls and a separate block of cheese). Assumed they could be eaten cold.
But when I got home I saw that it says they need to be cooked in the oven for 25 minutes and it says they are not suitable for microwave cooking. I don't have an oven. When they say "cook", is it just because they'll taste better when hot, or is there a health risk associated with eating them as they are?
Short version: is it safe to eat them straight out of the pack, even if the pack doesn't specifically mention that they can be eaten cold?
I've eaten a quiche straight out of the pack before and was fine.
Morrisons Mini Cheese & Onion Rolls 20 per pack. Can't find them on their website.

I think it'll depend on the pastry. If it browned then it's been cooked before. If it's white with perhaps a smear of egg then the pastry's raw and it wouldn't taste good at all.
If it is cooked then reheating briefly in a microwave will make it a bit soggy (hence why they don't advise) but it will taste better IMO than cold.0 -
Opinions vary (pretty ferociously) as to whether they are fit to eat hot cold, cooked or uncooked.
If they're the little rolls like the ones in this link, the photo looks like they should be edible straight.
Just try one yourself & if you remain uncertain, take them to a neighbour with an oven.0 -
if they are similar to these at sainsbury & Tesco then yes
