Just after I was declared bankrupt 2.5 years ago 2 of the credit cards I owed money on sold the debt to Arrow Global.
Arrow Global were advised by the OR & by myself on the bankruptcy & I’ve heard nothing from them since, however I’ve just checked my credit file & I noticed they they have carried out 2 credit search for the reason code AF on 24th December 2019.
Any idea why they would be doing this?
What does the code AF mean? A quick google search seems to indicate affordability is that correct?
I’m assuming as the figure was included in the bankruptcy that they can’t chase me for it. Are they likely to try? Anybody had any history dealing with this company?
Thanks all

Yes, according to TransUnion, an 'AF' denotes an affordability search. The purpose of an affordability search isWhere the client wishes to perform one of the following tasks for validating the affordability of a consumer: Income Verification; Prevention of Over-Indebtedness; Prevention of Bad Debt; FraudI work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

So why would they do this as I’m assuming they can’t chase the debt because it was all involved in the bankruptcy.0

I'd guess they do it for all debts they buy, probably to chase those who can afford to pay first
If the debt predated bankruptcy they can't chase you, although it maybe a good idea to have your discharge notice to hand so you can send it if needed(sometimes the bankruptcy info isn't passed on)0
