I just wanted to say what an amazing website that is! I couldn’t see the WWII shoes but there’s some fabulous shoes and boots on there.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.3

But oh yes, the *good* re-enactment suppliers are wonderful - lots do fairly modern styles, lots of swing dance and WW2 Home Front re-enactors wanting accurate stuff.
I love them partly because I happen to like, and suit, the old-fashioned styles, but also because they are properly-made, they last, they fit better, they work better, they can be repaired...!
And 55 quid for a pair of really well-made leather shoes is pretty good! I'm having a pair made to measure, belated decision on my 50th birthday present from my parents, by a specialist named Andy Burke, with slightly higher heels, but these WW2 ones are my everyday workhorse shoes and will cope with any kind of mud and rain and uneven footpaths and so on. I'm wearing my Merrells hiking boots for our morning walks because I'm 'training' myself to walk faster and further and get up steep hills in one piece, but I really look forward to wearing my WW2 ones out again soon!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Neither can I (justify I buying shoes that is). Circumstances at work have changed and it is probable that my contract won’t be extended beyond the end of July. I’ve been told as much by my finance boss. My project manager is currently arguing with her boss that she needs me, but I’m not officially on his budget so God only knows if she’ll succeed. Am I feeling down? A little. More disappointed than anything else - I’d have liked to have seen the end of the project. Time to brush up the CV and start applying for jobs.
In the meantime, it’s batten down the hatches and prepare for the inevitable. I have cash reserves; I’d just like to not raid them.

Oh @PipneyJane, that is rotten...
I very much hope you can see out the project - when do you find out? Very frustrating to have put in all the work and not see the launch of the ship, so to speak!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
