Morrison More Breach - It's all the customer's fault!

  • Yes - at long last.
Many of us have been suggesting this to them over the last two years - which is approximately how long the missing points saga has been going on for. Up to now it's fallen on deaf ears as they maintain it's all down to customers reusing credentials on multiple sites. Complete nonsense - so many people had unique logins for Morrisons and have never had an issue with theft / fraud on any other company's site - only Morrisons.

The interesting question is - if it's all been the customers fault, why did they feel it was necessary to introduce this measure?

Are they finally admitting that it was their fault? Can the thousands of ex customers that they blamed and refused to help expect a re-imbursement of the stolen points and some sort of goodwill gesture sometime soon?

I won't be holding my breath for that - nor will I be setting foot in one of their stores or petrol forecourts!!

This is still happening and just happened to me ...

I have been steadily amassing points for a good while now. I recently decided to check my balance, and was horrified to find that my balance (equating to £45 worth of vouchers), had been converted into £5 vouchers and spent, over 100 miles away from me. I reported this to Morrisons immediately, who said they would cancel my card, and investigate ...  After investigating,  I fully expected they would see that it wasn't me who spent the points and that I would be re-imbursed in full. However, the outcome of the investigation, following several emails to and fro (including one to the CEO!), was that Morrisons will accept absolutely no responsibility whatsoever, and will lay the blame firmly at your door. Through my own investigations, I found that this had happened on several occasions previously  ... Morrisons reaction to this ... again, absolutely nothing !! Absolutely disgusting !!  For me, it's not so much the value of vouchers, but the principle, that such a big company can just wash their hands of any responsibility. I know that many people save up and look forward to spending accrued points.

My message to you is: as soon as you have enough points, cash them in and spend them ... and don't let Morrisons steal them back!

The same advice with Nectar points, no need to reiterate what Martin has said in the past.

Have you tried calling them out on Twitter over this ?
  • And it continues, just happened to me as well, they will not admit to anything, I feel they have corrupt data in their More points system but they nust know who, where and when they have been used This was April 2021
